I am a professional freelance travel and experience writer; copy and creative editor; dog trainer and handler for conformation, obedience, agility, and stock work; and University English lecturer. My home is perched on the top of a hill in San Luis Obispo, California, with a view of the craggy peaks that make up much of the character of the town all the way to the sea. Though I live on the coast now, my heart is in the mountains with the falling snow, the prickly pines, and the sparkling rocks.

I grew up in the San Francisco bay area and have stayed in California for much of my life, though I travel out of state as much as possible out of the back of my truck with my dog and friends. My hobbies include rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, writing, nerdy web surfing, watching films, and reading books. In the past I was a Nintendo world champion, my first job was raising fancy rodents for a pet store, and right now my biggest dream would be to go to Cuba before Castro is out of power.
